Flat Racing
Originated in the Newmarket area of Britian in the early 17th Century.

Steeplechasing
Racing over fences.
Hurdle Racing
Racing over hurdles of at least 1.2m and distance of not less than 2 miles.  
Point to Point  
Races over hurdles for amateur riders over three miles or more.  
Amateur Racing  
The Malayan Amateur Racing Association is a member of the International Federation for Gentlemen Riders(FEGENTRI)  
Harness Racing  
A descendant of chariot racing, the first Olympic equestrian event. Harness Driving was introduced in Malaysia on 26 August 2001 at STC Equestrian Centre.  
Olympic Games  
The three Equestrian Disciplines in the Olympic are:
  • Show Jumping - Team and Individual Events
  • Dressage - Team and Individual Events
  • 3-Day Event (Eventing) - Team and Individual Events

  • Endurance Riding - Malaysia has two associations that promote the sport of long-distance riding - the Sabah Endurance Riders Association and the Malaysian Endurance Riders Society.
