Developing equine activities in Malaysia
Corporatised on 12 January 1993, Maljis Ekuin Malaysia MEM) was set up to be the catalyst for the development of equine activities in Malaysia.
The Council's main objectives are to :
  • Act as the national body to promote all eqiine activities and as the umbrella body to coordinate all activities undertaken by equestrial centres;
  • Act as advisor/consultant to the Government on equine matters;
  • Upgrade the level of horse management and care towards horsemanship and horsemastership;
  • Promote the establishment of riding centres and to provide these centres with technical advice and assistance in regard toe equipment and facilities.
Key Objectives
  • Developing professional coaches and farriers through accredited training;
  • Enhancing knowledge and skills in horse care and management through various courses;
  • Extending the pool of talented riders through initiatives such as the Riding in Schools Programme and Malaysian Pony Club;
  • Assisting in the training and development of young equestrian athletes through the National Sports Council and Bukit Jalil Sports School;
  • Supporting the efforts of equestrian centres and associations, including the Riding for the Disabled Association and the Paralympic Association.
